Finished.

I finished my pin cushion yesterday, I think that I like it. You know how it is, I would like it if someone else made it. Here it is.My mum came over yesterday to do some ironing for me which was very helpful, thanks mum.

How could I not mention that Alycia made tea again! She is such a natural at making new flavours, yum!

My dear Stephanie turned 15 this week, wow, time flies. We didn’t have a big party, just a roast dinner, and a cake. She is such a lovely girl, kind and generous. May God be with her all the days of her life. Love you Steph.

Run the Race.

Yesterday was Camden’s Boys Brigade sports day. Camden had been looking forward to the competition, he was convinced that he would come home with a handful of ribbons. Camden was the only Anchor boy representing his branch of Boys Brigade, until one more boy turned up an hour later. So Camden was put into a mixed team for the Tug o War. No ribbon, he was disappointed. We watched the other boys, and when one team finally won, my dad told me that Camden had grabbed the rope and helped to give it an extra pull, thus helping the team to win, noone else had noticed. What was he thinking?

Camden had to run 400m in the heat, he came equal last? Later he had to do 800m. Camden ran around the track and was happy to finish, until everyone was yelling to run around again. He is obviously a distance man, he copes better in a big run. So he didn’t win anything, but he tried his best. I must say that Camden and his little buddy were good sports, and that is what develops good character right? Maybe next year, he will get a ribbon.

The Toy Society Drop

http://www.thetoysociety.blogspot.com/

Check out this site, it might motivate you to whip up a little something and do a drop yourself. I played “The Sneaky Toy maker” today, and dropped off my first toy. We had a big Boys Brigade day, so I left it at the base of a tree in full view of the car park. I hope that it might brighten up someone’s day after a hot and dusty day of sport. I almost want to drive down to Ringwood just to check if someone has taken it, the suspense is killing me! It is good giving, without expecting anything in return. Bye Bye Mr Hoot.If you live in Ringwood, check out Proclomation Park, Slyvia Grove. It just might be there ,still!

Perhaps I will drop it off somewhere as part of the Toy Society? I found the pattern for this cute owl here:http://juicy-bits.typepad.com/juicy_bits/2009/12/131-give-a-hoot-for-the-holidays.html

Here is Mr Hoot.Remember to leave a comment, you just might be the name that gets drawn out.

Back to Front and Inside Out.

I’m blogging back to front today, as I have been a slacko updating my posts. Jared made some room on my hard drive so now I can type to my little heart is content. Today we got another pet! Now don’t be shocked folks, I know what you are thinking. These pets will last longer than any of our real pets. These are Zhu Zhu pets. They are so cute. Cassandra got one today because she has worn her eye patch without any problem for 6 weeks, it was her “carrot” so to speak.Cassandra became desperate for an outfit too, the bathers with googles, but…I didn’t give in. The outfits are $10 a pop, but I found this site, which gives you a tutorial on how to make some outfits, so perhaps…Take a look if you are interested.http://girlsinwhitedresses.wordpress.com/2009/10/21/how-to-make-zhu-zhu-pet-clothes/

Alycia made tea last night, she is a natural cook. I used the heart cookie cutter to make the rice look cute, but she did the rest. For a 10 year old she is very talented.WE had some vistors the other night, and the lady was talking about her youth and how she use to pop lizard eggs, Alycia ran outside and asked if these were lizard eggs, and they were. She loves nature. The photo is too dark, but you can just see them.Lachlan had his first rowing races last weekend. The children and I went to watch, we were pretty much the only ones cheering, what’s with that? I felt like Eliza Doolittle in My Fair Lady, screaming out “Go Lachlan”  He and his buddy and the cox won the first race, so they were in the final, they won a third. He was pretty happy at winning a medal.

Lachlan said that he enjoyed the day because the boys didn’t swear, parents were around.

Alycia received a gift from our friends who have moved up to Ballarat, some yummy sweets from Soverign Hill.

I made a couple of things, a pillow case for Steph’s triangle pillow, and a little cover for a little note book. And now for some eye candy, don’t you love this bike? I don’t like the price though. We had a huge hail storm last week, it is the first time I was a little scared during a storm, check out the size of the hail stones.Gotta go and pick up Camden from Boys Brigade, see ya.
